In a continued effort to promote spiritual tourism and support citizens, MLA Mohali Kulwant Singh today flagged off a bus full of pilgrims from Phase-10, Mohali under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Yatra Plan. The initiative aims to provide devotees with an opportunity to visit important religious and historical sites with full support from the Punjab Government.
The flag-off ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, family members, and officials who gathered to bid farewell to the pilgrims. This pilgrimage has been organized under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann, whose government has introduced the scheme to ensure that people, especially those who may not have the means, can undertake religious journeys comfortably and without financial burden.
During the journey, pilgrims will first visit the sacred Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as Darbar Sahib, which holds immense religious significance. The itinerary also includes visits to the Durgiana Temple, the revered Ram Tirath Temple, and the historic Jallianwala Bagh. Pilgrims will also visit the iconic Wagah Border, adding a patriotic and cultural dimension to the journey.
Addressing the gathering, Kulwant Singh highlighted the importance of such initiatives in connecting people with their spiritual and cultural roots. He stated that the government is committed to ensuring that every citizen gets an opportunity to experience these sacred places. “This yatra is not just about travel, but about faith, devotion, and cultural connection. We are ensuring that pilgrims receive every facility during the journey,” he said.
The MLA assured that all necessary arrangements have been made for the comfort and safety of the pilgrims. Facilities including transportation, food, accommodation, and medical assistance have been arranged to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience. Dedicated staff and officials will accompany the pilgrims to assist them throughout the journey.
Pilgrims expressed their gratitude towards the government and the MLA for organizing such a thoughtful initiative. Many described the journey as a dream come true, especially for those who had long wished to visit these sacred and historical sites.
Officials present at the event confirmed that the pilgrimage scheme is being implemented across Punjab and is receiving a positive response from the public. The initiative reflects the government’s focus on inclusive welfare and cultural enrichment.
As the bus departed from Phase-10, it carried with it not just passengers, but also devotion, hope, and excitement. The pilgrims are expected to return with cherished memories and spiritual fulfillment, making the journey truly meaningful.
