MLA Kulwant Singh Encourages Citizen Participation Through Lok Milni
A Lok Milni programme was organised in Village Saidpur, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 2 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with local residents to review public grievances, discuss ongoing development works, and understand the future priorities of the village. The programme served as an important platform for direct communication between citizens and their elected representative while providing updates on the Punjab Government’s development agenda under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the interaction, villagers raised various issues related to roads, drainage, sanitation, drinking water supply, street lighting, public infrastructure, and other civic amenities affecting their daily lives. MLA Kulwant Singh listened attentively to every representation and assured the residents that all genuine concerns would be taken up with the concerned government departments on priority. He emphasised that continuous follow-up would be maintained to ensure the timely resolution of public grievances and the effective implementation of development works.
The programme also provided an opportunity to inform residents about the major development projects and public welfare initiatives implemented across SAS Nagar Mohali during the past four and a half years. Discussions highlighted improvements in road connectivity, rural infrastructure, healthcare, education, drinking water facilities, sanitation, citizen services, and various welfare schemes that have contributed to improving the quality of life across the constituency. Residents were encouraged to continue sharing their suggestions and actively participate in shaping the future development of their village.
Regular Lok Milni programmes play an important role in promoting transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance. Such interactions help identify grassroots challenges, strengthen coordination between government departments and local communities, increase awareness about government welfare schemes, and ensure that development projects remain aligned with the actual needs of the people. These meetings also reinforce public confidence by providing citizens with direct access to their elected representative.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that direct interaction with residents is essential for understanding local priorities and delivering responsive governance. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government continues to strengthen public infrastructure, improve citizen services, and implement welfare initiatives that directly benefit every section of society. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the residents of Saidpur for their active participation, valuable suggestions, and continued support, stating that public feedback remains an important guide for future development planning.
He further encouraged villagers to remain actively involved in community meetings and continue working together with the administration for the progress of their village. He emphasised that cooperation between citizens, elected representatives, and government departments is the foundation of transparent governance, better civic amenities, and sustainable long-term development throughout Mohali.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating development works, strengthening rural infrastructure, and improving public services across SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in essential infrastructure, responsive governance, and active community participation, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to building stronger villages, enhancing civic amenities, and creating a more prosperous, inclusive, and better-connected Mohali for all residents.
