Kulwant Singh Welcomes Approval of ‘Satkar Act’, Calls It a Historic Step for Protecting Religious Sanctity
Mohali — MLA Kulwant Singh has welcomed the approval of the ‘Satkar Act’, calling it a significant and historic step towards ensuring strict action against acts of sacrilege and protecting the sanctity of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
The bill, which was earlier passed in the Punjab Legislative Assembly to address incidents of desecration, has now officially become law after receiving assent from Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. With this approval, the legislation comes into force as a strong legal framework aimed at preventing and punishing acts of disrespect towards the holy scripture.
Reacting to the development, Kulwant Singh stated that this law is not just a legal document but a firm commitment to uphold the dignity, respect, and sacred traditions associated with Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He emphasized that the sentiments of millions of people are deeply connected with this issue, and the law reflects the collective will to ensure that such incidents are dealt with strictly.
The MLA credited the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for taking decisive action on a matter of great emotional and religious significance.
