MLA Kulwant Singh Reviews Local Development During Gidarpur Visit
A public outreach programme was organised in Village Gidarpur, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 1 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with local residents and shared updates on major development works and public welfare initiatives undertaken by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The programme provided an important platform for engaging directly with the community, discussing local priorities, and strengthening citizen participation in the development process.
During the interaction, residents were briefed on several development projects implemented across Mohali over the past four and a half years. Discussions covered initiatives related to roads, drinking water supply, sanitation, rural infrastructure, healthcare, education, public services, and various welfare schemes aimed at improving the quality of life for people across both rural and urban areas. The meeting also highlighted the government’s continued efforts to ensure that development reaches every village through transparent and people-centric governance.
The programme encouraged an open dialogue between residents and their elected representative. Villagers shared their views on local development, offered suggestions for future projects, and discussed issues concerning civic amenities and community welfare. MLA Kulwant Singh listened carefully to the feedback and assured the residents that all genuine concerns and development requirements would be taken up with the concerned departments for timely action and effective implementation.
The interaction reflected the growing importance of public participation in governance and development planning. Regular community outreach programmes help strengthen communication between citizens and the administration, improve transparency, and ensure that government initiatives remain aligned with the needs and aspirations of local communities. Such engagements also contribute to better coordination, faster execution of development works, and more effective delivery of public services.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the trust and support shown by the people of Gidarpur continue to inspire efforts towards inclusive and sustainable development. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening public infrastructure, improving citizen services, and implementing welfare initiatives that directly benefit every section of society. He added that continuous interaction with residents enables the government to better understand grassroots priorities and ensure that development reaches every village in Mohali.
He further encouraged villagers to remain actively involved in the development process by participating in public meetings and sharing constructive suggestions. He emphasised that cooperation between citizens, elected representatives, and government departments is essential for building stronger communities and achieving long-term, balanced development.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating development works, improving civic infrastructure, and expanding public welfare initiatives across SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in essential infrastructure, responsive governance, and active community participation, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to building stronger villages, enhancing citizen services, and creating a brighter future for the people of Mohali.
