Mohali: Mohali Kings secured their place in the semi-finals of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League with a convincing five-wicket victory over Bathinda Royals at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 185, Mohali Kings reached 188/5 in 18.4 overs, completing the chase with eight balls to spare. Captain Ramandeep Singh produced a match-winning unbeaten 71 off 36 balls, while Sohraab Dhaliwal finished unbeaten on 40 off 20 deliveries.
Bathinda Royals Recover After Early Setbacks
After winning the toss, Mohali Kings elected to bowl first, and Bathinda Royals were put under early pressure. The Royals slipped to 17/2, giving the Mohali bowling attack an opportunity to control the innings.
However, Harnoor Singh and Gourav Choudhury steadied the Bathinda innings with a crucial 74-run partnership for the third wicket. Harnoor scored 43 off 36 balls, while Gourav contributed 35 from 22 deliveries.
Bathinda lost wickets at regular intervals after the partnership was broken but continued to build towards a competitive total.

Mohali Kings Face Early Trouble in Chase
Mohali’s chase began poorly as the home side slipped to 4/2, allowing Bathinda Royals to put immediate pressure on the batting line-up.
The situation improved when Anmolpreet Singh and Ramandeep Singh combined to rebuild the innings. The pair added an important partnership before Anmolpreet was dismissed for a brisk 49 off 28 balls, including six fours and a six.

Dhaliwal Finishes the Job
At the other end, Sohraab Dhaliwal provided the perfect finishing support. He smashed an unbeaten 40 off 20 balls, including four fours and two sixes, and helped Mohali Kings cross the finish line comfortably.
The pair put together an unbeaten partnership of 82 runs, guiding Mohali from 106/5 to the winning total.

The five-wicket victory strengthens Mohali Kings’ campaign and confirms their place in the semi-final stage of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League.
Ramandeep Singh’s unbeaten half-century and Dhaliwal’s explosive finish proved decisive in a successful run chase after Bathinda Royals had posted a competitive total.
With the semi-final berth secured, Mohali Kings will now look to carry the momentum forward as they continue their push for the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League title.
