MLA Kulwant Singh Inaugurates Rural Health Training Centre in Saneta
Healthcare infrastructure in SAS Nagar Mohali received a major boost on 3 July 2026 with the dedication of a new Rural Health Training Centre at Village Saneta. Established under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Mohali, the centre has been developed to strengthen rural healthcare services while providing practical training opportunities for medical students and healthcare professionals. The facility was dedicated to the public under the guidance of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh as part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing commitment to expanding quality healthcare under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
MLA Kulwant Singh participated in the dedication ceremony and welcomed the inauguration of the Rural Health Training Centre, describing it as an important milestone in strengthening healthcare services across the constituency. The centre is expected to provide accessible primary healthcare, preventive medical services, health consultations, maternal and child healthcare, and other essential medical facilities to the residents of Saneta and neighbouring villages. At the same time, it will serve as a practical training centre where medical students, interns, and young doctors can gain valuable clinical experience while serving rural communities.
The new healthcare facility has been established with the objective of improving healthcare accessibility in rural areas while strengthening the quality of medical education. Residents will now have easier access to essential healthcare services closer to their homes, reducing the need to travel long distances for routine treatment and medical consultations. The Rural Health Training Centre is also expected to promote preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, community health awareness, and better healthcare outcomes for people living in surrounding villages.
The project forms part of the Punjab Government’s broader vision of strengthening public healthcare infrastructure across the state. Along with the expansion of hospitals, Mohalla Clinics, modern medical facilities, and healthcare services, initiatives such as the Rural Health Training Centre are helping build a stronger healthcare system capable of meeting the growing needs of both urban and rural populations. The collaboration with the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences will also contribute to producing skilled healthcare professionals equipped to serve communities across Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that quality healthcare is one of the most essential public services and should be available to every citizen without difficulty. He stated that the Rural Health Training Centre in Saneta will not only improve healthcare services for nearby villages but will also strengthen medical education by providing practical learning opportunities for future doctors. He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to modernising healthcare infrastructure, expanding medical education, and ensuring better healthcare facilities for every resident of Mohali.
He further emphasised that investments in healthcare infrastructure contribute directly to healthier communities and long-term social development. He expressed confidence that the new Rural Health Training Centre would become an important healthcare resource for the region while supporting the government’s vision of accessible, affordable, and high-quality medical services for all.
The dedication of the Rural Health Training Centre marks another significant milestone in the development of SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in healthcare infrastructure, medical education, public health services, and citizen-focused welfare initiatives, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to building a healthier, stronger, and more progressive Mohali for present and future generations.
