The journey provides senior citizens from the three villages with an opportunity to undertake a religious pilgrimage and visit important sites connected with Punjab’s spiritual, cultural and historical heritage. The participation of elderly residents from different villages also reflects the continued reach of the government-supported pilgrimage programme in rural areas.

Under the arrangements for the pilgrimage, the participating devotees will be provided accommodation and meals during the journey by the Punjab Government.
