Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana flagged off a special pilgrimage bus carrying senior citizens from Sector 70, SAS Nagar Mohali under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme, a flagship welfare initiative of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The scheme aims to provide elderly citizens with an opportunity to undertake spiritual journeys to renowned religious and historical destinations with dignity, comfort, and comprehensive government support.
Before the departure, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana met the senior citizens, interacted warmly with them, and extended his heartfelt wishes for a safe, comfortable, and spiritually enriching pilgrimage. He expressed happiness that elderly residents of Mohali were receiving an opportunity to fulfil their religious aspirations through a well-organised government initiative without having to bear the burden of travel arrangements or related expenses.
As part of the pilgrimage, the devotees will visit some of Punjab’s most revered religious and historical landmarks, including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Partition Museum in Amritsar. The journey offers pilgrims an opportunity to seek spiritual blessings while also experiencing Punjab’s rich cultural, historical, and religious heritage in a safe and well-managed environment.
The Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme has emerged as an important welfare initiative dedicated to the well-being of senior citizens across Punjab.
