Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Attends Gurbani and Cultural Programme in Mohali
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana participated in a Gurbani and Cultural Programme organised by the Gurdwara Coordination Committee, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Mohali, at Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Singh Sabha. Held at the invitation of the organisers, the event brought together children and young participants from different parts of Mohali who showcased their talents through competitions including Gurbani Kanth (recitation), poetry recitation, speeches, and turban tying, celebrating Punjab’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
The programme served as a meaningful platform for promoting Sikh values, cultural traditions, and moral education while encouraging children to build confidence, improve communication skills, and deepen their understanding of spiritual teachings. Through their enthusiastic participation in various competitions, the young contestants displayed remarkable dedication, discipline, and respect for their religious and cultural roots.
During the event, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana interacted with the participants, appreciated their outstanding performances, and encouraged them to continue participating in educational, religious, and cultural activities. Before addressing the gathering, the Mayor paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Singh Sabha and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of all. He observed that religious institutions and community organisations play a vital role in strengthening social harmony, promoting moral values, and encouraging selfless service. He added that programmes based on faith and culture inspire young generations to remain connected with their heritage while contributing positively to society.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana also commended the Gurdwara Coordination Committee, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Mohali, for successfully organising the event and providing children with an excellent platform to showcase their talent and develop their personalities. He expressed his gratitude to the organisers for the invitation and thanked them for the warm welcome and respect extended to him during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that encouraging children to actively participate in religious, educational, and cultural programmes is essential for building a strong, value-based, and progressive society.
