Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Reviews Cleanliness Arrangements in Sectors 88 and 89, Mohali
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana conducted an on-ground inspection of Sector 88, Sector 89, and adjoining areas of SAS Nagar Mohali to review the city’s cleanliness arrangements and assess the quality of sanitation services being provided by the Municipal Corporation. The inspection was undertaken as part of the Corporation’s continuous efforts to maintain a clean, hygienic, and healthy environment while ensuring efficient delivery of civic services to residents.
During the visit, the Mayor inspected major roads, internal streets, public spaces, parks, market areas, and other important locations to evaluate ongoing cleanliness operations. He reviewed waste collection, sanitation arrangements, road sweeping, and the overall maintenance of public areas while interacting with the concerned officials regarding the effectiveness of the existing system. Special attention was given to identifying locations requiring immediate improvement so that corrective measures could be implemented without delay.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana directed the concerned departments to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness across all residential and commercial areas. He emphasised that regular sanitation drives, timely waste collection, proper disposal of garbage, and continuous monitoring are essential for preventing unhygienic conditions and ensuring a cleaner urban environment. He instructed officials to strengthen field supervision and ensure that sanitation teams perform their duties efficiently on a daily basis.
The Mayor further instructed officials to remain vigilant and ensure that cleanliness is maintained not only on main roads but also in internal streets, parks, vacant plots, and adjoining localities. He said that effective sanitation management directly contributes to public health, environmental sustainability, and the overall quality of life of residents. He also stressed the importance of addressing public complaints related to sanitation promptly and maintaining regular inspections to ensure accountability.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that maintaining cleanliness across Mohali remains one of the Municipal Corporation’s highest priorities. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working to strengthen urban services, improve sanitation infrastructure, and create cleaner, healthier, and more liveable cities. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that sanitation work is carried out consistently and efficiently while maintaining strict quality standards. He added that regular field inspections would continue to monitor the progress of cleanliness drives and ensure better civic services for every resident of Mohali.
The Mayor also appealed to citizens to actively support the Municipal Corporation’s cleanliness efforts by maintaining hygiene in their surroundings, avoiding littering, and cooperating with sanitation workers. He said that public participation, along with efficient municipal services, is essential for achieving the vision of a clean, green, and sustainable Mohali.
