Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana participated in a protest programme organised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in SAS Nagar (Mohali), where party leaders, workers, and supporters gathered to express their views on issues concerning governance, public welfare, and social harmony. During the programme, speakers raised concerns over what they described as attempts to politicise religious sentiments and reiterated the importance of maintaining communal peace and unity.
According to the organisers, the programme was aimed at highlighting the need to keep public discourse focused on development, transparent governance, and issues directly affecting the lives of citizens. Participants stated that Punjab’s progress depends on constructive politics that prioritises education, healthcare, infrastructure, employment, and improved public services while preserving the state’s long-standing tradition of communal harmony.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that Punjab has always been known for its spirit of brotherhood, mutual respect, and social unity. He emphasised that public representatives should remain committed to addressing the everyday concerns of citizens by strengthening civic infrastructure, improving municipal services, and promoting inclusive development across all sections of society.
He further noted that development-oriented governance requires cooperation between public representatives, government departments, and citizens. According to him, maintaining peace and social harmony creates a stronger foundation for economic growth, better public services, and sustainable development.
The programme also highlighted the importance of continued public engagement in strengthening governance and ensuring that development initiatives reach every section of society. Participants reiterated their support for policies focused on improving education, healthcare, civic infrastructure, sanitation, and citizen-centric services across Mohali and Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said:

Punjab’s continued progress depends upon unity, peace, and the active participation of citizens. He also appealed to residents to continue supporting initiatives that promote communal harmony, responsible civic participation, and the overall development of Mohali. He reiterated that collective efforts from citizens, public representatives, and government institutions are essential for building a stronger, cleaner, and more prosperous city.
