Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Thanks Citizens, Focuses on Development and Public Welfare
SAS Nagar, Mohali: After being entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the Mayor of SAS Nagar Mohali, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, party leadership, fellow councillors, and the people of Mohali for placing their trust and confidence in him. He described the opportunity to lead the Municipal Corporation as both a great honour and a solemn responsibility, pledging to serve the city with honesty, transparency, and unwavering dedication.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that the faith reposed in him by the leadership, elected representatives, and citizens would inspire him to work tirelessly for the overall development of Mohali. He reaffirmed that his foremost priority would be to strengthen civic infrastructure, improve municipal services, accelerate development projects, and ensure that every sector and locality benefits from planned and inclusive urban growth.
The Mayor stated that the Municipal Corporation will adopt a citizen-centric and result-oriented approach to governance by focusing on key areas such as sanitation, cleanliness, road infrastructure, drainage systems, street lighting, water supply, waste management, public parks, environmental conservation, and other essential civic amenities. He emphasised that efficient municipal services and sustainable urban planning are fundamental to improving the quality of life of Mohali’s residents.
Expressing his appreciation to his fellow councillors, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana acknowledged their support and cooperation in strengthening local governance. He said that close coordination among elected representatives, Municipal Corporation officials, government departments, and citizens would play a crucial role in ensuring transparent administration, faster resolution of public issues, and the successful implementation of development initiatives.
The Mayor further highlighted that public participation remains one of the strongest pillars of effective governance. He encouraged residents, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), market associations, and social organisations to actively participate in the city’s development by sharing constructive suggestions and working together with the Municipal Corporation to create a cleaner, greener, smarter, and more organised Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana once again expressed his sincere gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, all fellow councillors, and the people of Mohali for the confidence they have shown in his leadership. He said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening urban infrastructure, modernising civic amenities, improving municipal services, and ensuring transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance across the state. He reaffirmed his determination to fulfil the aspirations of the people through dedicated public service and continuous development efforts.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana concluded by stating that assuming the office of Mayor marks the beginning of a new chapter in Mohali’s civic administration. He pledged to work in close partnership with the Municipal Corporation, the Punjab Government, elected representatives, and citizens to build a cleaner, greener, smarter, and more progressive SAS Nagar Mohali, where sustainable development, efficient public services, and the welfare of every resident remain the highest priorities.
