Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Strengthens Public Engagement Through Citizen Interaction Programme
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana held a public grievance meeting at his office in SAS Nagar Mohali, where residents from various sectors, wards, and villages met him to discuss civic and development-related issues affecting their localities. The interaction was organised as part of the Mayor’s ongoing public outreach initiative aimed at strengthening direct communication with citizens and ensuring responsive, transparent, and people-centric governance.
During the meeting, residents highlighted a range of civic concerns, including sanitation, road maintenance, drainage, street lighting, drinking water supply, waste management, parks, public infrastructure, and other municipal services under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation. Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana patiently listened to each representation and assured citizens that all genuine issues would be forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt action and continuous follow-up.
The Mayor stated that regular interaction with residents plays a vital role in understanding ground-level challenges and identifying priority areas requiring immediate attention. He noted that direct public engagement enables the Municipal Corporation to improve service delivery, monitor the progress of development works, and ensure that civic projects are implemented in accordance with the needs and expectations of local communities.
Emphasising the importance of accountability and efficient administration, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana directed the concerned officials to maintain close coordination with all relevant departments to ensure the timely disposal of public grievances. He said that regular monitoring and effective follow-up are essential for improving municipal services and delivering better civic amenities to residents across the city.
The Mayor further reiterated that accessible governance and transparent administration remain central to the functioning of the Municipal Corporation. He said that citizens should feel confident that their concerns are being heard and addressed through a systematic and accountable grievance redressal mechanism.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that serving the people of Mohali and resolving their concerns continues to be his highest priority. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is consistently working to strengthen urban infrastructure, modernise municipal services, and promote transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly governance. He assured residents that every issue falling within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation would receive due attention and that sincere efforts would be made to ensure its early resolution.
