Mohali: MLA Kulwant Singh attended a programme organised at the Centre of Excellence for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Sector 79, Mohali, on the invitation of the organisers.
During the programme, discussions were held on the work being undertaken by the centre for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. The organisers shared details about the centre’s efforts to provide specialised treatment, care and support to children requiring such services.
According to the information shared during the event, the centre is the first of its kind in the country dedicated to autism treatment and has so far provided treatment to around 260 children from different parts of the country.

The programme also provided an opportunity for the organisers to brief MLA Kulwant Singh about the centre’s functioning, ongoing work and requirements. Various concerns and demands related to strengthening the facility and improving support services were placed before the MLA.
Kulwant Singh listened to the issues raised by the organisers and assured them that the genuine matters would be brought to the attention of the Punjab Government for consideration.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that he would make every possible effort to facilitate support for the centre. He also assured the organisers that its genuine requirements would be taken up with the Mann Government.
The MLA’s interaction with the centre’s organisers focused on understanding the challenges faced by the facility and exploring ways in which appropriate support could be facilitated.
