A bus carrying elderly pilgrims from Daidi village in Mohali began its journey after being shown the green flag under the Chief Minister's pilgrimage scheme. The departure marked the formal start of a pilgrimage covering religious, historical and cultural destinations. The elderly residents left their village together and will return after completing the visits included in the programme.
The Chief Minister's pilgrimage scheme has enabled the group from Daidi to undertake the journey together. With the bus flagged off, the village-based programme moved into action and the elderly pilgrims started travelling from Mohali. Their itinerary brings together places connected with faith, history and cultural memory, giving the journey a sequence of visits before the group returns to Daidi village.
The green-flag ceremony took place before the bus left the village. It marked the beginning of the pilgrimage for the elderly residents travelling together under the scheme. The departure set the group on the planned route towards five destinations and began a journey that combines religious visits with historical and cultural sites.
The bus journey is being undertaken by residents of Daidi village as a group. The listed destinations form the complete programme for the pilgrimage, and the participants will travel through them before returning. The start from Mohali has therefore put the planned route into action, with the elderly pilgrims beginning the visits included in their programme.
Chief Minister's pilgrimage scheme covers five destinations
The first major destination on the itinerary is Shri Harmandir Sahib. The elderly pilgrims will visit the revered site as part of the religious portion of their journey. It is one of the five destinations identified for the group travelling from Daidi village.
Durgiana Temple is also included in the programme. Its visit forms another part of the religious itinerary, along with Shri Harmandir Sahib. Together, the two destinations make up the religious part of the route that the elderly pilgrims will cover after leaving Daidi under the Chief Minister's pilgrimage scheme.

Jallianwala Bagh is another stop included in the route. Its presence in the itinerary gives the journey a historical dimension alongside the religious visits. The elderly pilgrims will visit the site during the trip, making it the fourth of the five places included in the route from Mohali.
The final destination named for the journey is the Partition Museum. Its inclusion adds another historical and cultural element to the programme. After visiting Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum, the pilgrims will return.
Together, the five destinations create the full sequence of visits planned for the residents of Daidi village. Shri Harmandir Sahib and Durgiana Temple represent the religious portion of the itinerary. Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum complete the wider route, bringing the religious, historical and cultural parts of the journey together.
The five places will be covered during the pilgrimage before the group makes its return journey. The itinerary therefore gives the elderly residents a defined route from their village through the destinations named in the programme. The green-flag departure marked the point at which this planned sequence of visits began.
Food and accommodation assured during journey
During the pilgrimage, the Mann government will provide accommodation and food for the elderly participants. These arrangements cover the basic facilities required by the group while it travels to the destinations listed in the programme. The assurance includes both stay and meals during the journey.

The organised support is being provided alongside the five-destination journey under the Chief Minister's pilgrimage scheme. The group has started from Daidi village after the green-flag ceremony, with accommodation and food assured by the Mann government during the programme. These arrangements accompany the elderly pilgrims as they travel through the places included in their route.

The departure from Daidi marks the beginning of a journey connecting the Mohali village with Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum.
The trip thus combines a group journey for elderly residents with visits to five named religious, historical and cultural destinations.
