Mohali Residents Raise Local Issues During Meeting with MLA Kulwant Singh
Continuing his regular outreach programme across the constituency, MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with residents from various parts of SAS Nagar (Mohali) on June 12, 2026, to hear their concerns regarding civic infrastructure, public services, and local development. The meeting provided an open platform for citizens to directly discuss the issues affecting their daily lives and suggest measures for improving public facilities across the constituency.
Residents from both urban and rural areas actively participated in the interaction and raised several concerns related to road repairs, drainage systems, sanitation, drinking water supply, street lighting, sewerage, parks, public transportation, welfare schemes, and other essential civic services. Citizens appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with their elected representative and share the challenges being faced in their respective localities.
During the meeting, MLA Kulwant Singh patiently listened to every grievance presented by the residents and reviewed issues requiring immediate attention from various government departments and local authorities. He assured the gathering that all genuine concerns would be forwarded to the concerned officials and monitored closely to ensure timely action and effective resolution.
Addressing the residents, Kulwant Singh said that maintaining continuous communication with the public is essential for responsive and transparent governance. He emphasized that direct interaction with citizens enables public representatives to better understand ground-level challenges and prioritize development works based on the actual needs of the community.
He further stated that every issue discussed during the meeting would receive proper follow-up and coordination with the concerned departments. According to him, effective governance depends on accountability, timely implementation of development projects, and active public participation.
Regular public meetings have become an important mechanism for strengthening citizen-centric governance in Mohali. Such interactions allow residents to provide valuable feedback on government services, highlight local development priorities, and contribute suggestions that help improve public administration. At the same time, these engagements enable elected representatives to monitor civic conditions more effectively and identify issues before they become larger challenges.
With Mohali witnessing rapid urban expansion and continuous infrastructure development, the demand for better roads, sanitation, drainage systems, public transport, healthcare facilities, parks, and other civic amenities continues to increase. Addressing these challenges requires close coordination between government departments, municipal authorities, and public representatives to ensure efficient delivery of public services.
The interaction also highlighted the importance of community participation in governance. Active involvement of residents strengthens transparency, promotes accountability, and supports the successful implementation of public welfare initiatives. Citizen participation remains a key pillar in building a cleaner, more developed, and citizen-friendly Mohali.
Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government continues to focus on strengthening public grievance redressal mechanisms, improving civic infrastructure, enhancing access to government services, and promoting transparent governance. Regular constituency-level interactions complement these initiatives by creating direct communication channels between elected representatives and the people.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said:
“Serving the people and addressing their concerns remains my foremost responsibility. Every issue brought before me will be taken up with the concerned departments to ensure timely action. Continuous dialogue with residents helps us understand local priorities and enables us to implement development projects that truly benefit the community.”
He further emphasized that sustainable development can only be achieved through active cooperation between citizens, public representatives, and government authorities. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Mohali Infrastructure, improving Citizen Services, promoting Public Welfare, and ensuring inclusive development across every ward, village, and sector of the constituency.
The meeting concluded with positive discussions and assurances that the concerns raised by residents would be regularly followed up with the respective departments. As Mohali continues to grow as one of Punjab’s leading urban centres, regular citizen engagement, responsive governance, and efficient public service delivery will remain key priorities for ensuring better infrastructure, improved civic amenities, and a higher quality of life for all residents.
