MLA Kulwant Singh Extends Support for International Religious Outreach Programme
MLA Kulwant Singh visited Gurdwara Akal Ashram, Sohana, on June 11, 2026, where he paid obeisance and sought the blessings of Guru Sahib Ji. The visit took place in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere as members of the Sangat, religious leaders, and local residents gathered to participate in the religious programme and offer prayers for the success of an upcoming international Gurmat Prachar mission.
During his visit, MLA Kulwant Singh attended a special farewell ceremony organised in honour of Bhai Sahib Bhai Davinder Singh Ji Khalsa and his accompanying Jatha, who are set to embark on a three-month International Gurmat Prachar Tour. The delegation will travel to Canada, England, and several European countries, where they will promote the teachings of Sikhism, spread the message of Gurmat, and strengthen the spiritual connection of overseas Sikh communities with their faith and cultural heritage.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of members of the Sangat, religious scholars, community leaders, and devotees who gathered to extend their blessings and best wishes to the delegation. The occasion reflected the continued commitment of Sikh religious institutions toward preserving spiritual traditions and promoting Sikh values across the world.
Gurdwara Akal Ashram Sohana has long served as a respected centre for spiritual learning, religious activities, and community service. Programmes organised at the Gurdwara not only encourage devotion and selfless service but also promote unity, compassion, and social harmony among people from all walks of life.
The farewell ceremony also highlighted the important role played by Gurmat Prachar in preserving Sikh heritage and strengthening cultural ties between Punjab and Sikh communities living abroad. Through religious discourses, kirtan, and community interaction, such international missions help inspire younger generations to remain connected with Sikh history, values, and traditions.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh appreciated the dedication and commitment of Bhai Sahib Bhai Davinder Singh Ji Khalsa and his Jatha for undertaking the international religious mission.
He said:
“The teachings of the Sikh Gurus continue to inspire millions across the world through the timeless values of selfless service, equality, compassion, and humanity. The International Gurmat Prachar Tour undertaken by Bhai Sahib Bhai Davinder Singh Ji Khalsa and his Jatha is a commendable initiative that will further strengthen the spiritual bond between overseas Sikh communities and their rich religious heritage.”
He further expressed gratitude to the management of Gurdwara Akal Ashram Sohana and members of the Sangat for the warm welcome and respect extended during the programme. He noted that such religious gatherings serve as a source of spiritual inspiration while reinforcing the values of unity, faith, mutual respect, and community service.
Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government continues to support initiatives that preserve the state’s rich religious, cultural, and historical heritage. Religious institutions across Punjab continue to play an important role in promoting social harmony, community welfare, and moral values through various spiritual and charitable activities.
The programme concluded with Ardas seeking the blessings of Guru Sahib Ji for the success of the International Gurmat Prachar Tour and for the safety and well-being of the entire delegation throughout their journey. Members of the Sangat prayed for the continued growth of Sikh values across the world and reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the rich spiritual traditions that continue to unite Sikh communities globally.
As Punjab remains deeply rooted in its religious and cultural heritage, such spiritual gatherings continue to strengthen community bonds, encourage selfless service, and inspire future generations to uphold the timeless teachings of the Sikh Gurus.
