Two buses from the Mohali villages of Kandala and Balongi departed today with elderly pilgrims under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan. The Mohali pilgrimage buses will take the participating elders to a combination of religious, historical and cultural destinations before returning after the scheduled visits are completed.
The journey includes five named locations: Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. Elderly residents travelling from the two villages will visit these places as part of one shared pilgrimage arranged under the government plan. The itinerary brings together religious sites and locations connected with Punjab’s history and public memory.
Mohali pilgrimage buses begin the scheduled journey
The departure brought elderly residents of Kandala and Balongi together for a common pilgrimage. The two buses left from the villages with the passengers beginning a journey that covers the five destinations identified under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan. The trip is arranged around visits to religious places as well as sites linked with history and culture, after which the elders are scheduled to return.
Shri Harmandir Sahib is among the religious destinations included in the route. The pilgrims will also visit Durgiana Temple during the journey. Both locations form part of the five-place itinerary for the buses that departed from Kandala and Balongi. The visits will allow the participating elders to travel together under the same programme and complete the destinations included in the plan.
Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal is also included in the itinerary. It is listed alongside Shri Harmandir Sahib and Durgiana Temple as part of the religious side of the pilgrimage. For the elderly travellers from Kandala and Balongi, the visit to Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal is one of the five scheduled stops on the journey under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan.

Continue readingThe other two destinations are Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. Their inclusion adds historical and cultural places to the religious visits. The elders will visit both locations during the same trip, making the journey a five-destination pilgrimage that brings together the sites named for the buses departing from the two Mohali villages.
Together, the five places make up the stated route for the elderly pilgrims. Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal are included with Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. The Mohali pilgrimage buses will continue through these locations, and the elders will return after the listed visits have been completed.
The route therefore begins with the departure from Kandala and Balongi and is scheduled to conclude after the full itinerary is covered. The two buses are carrying elderly pilgrims on one combined trip under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan. Religious destinations are placed alongside locations linked to history and public memory, giving the journey the mixed character described for the programme.
The five-site itinerary also keeps the destinations connected as one planned pilgrimage rather than separate visits. The elderly passengers will travel to Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum during the same journey. Once the listed visits are complete, the buses are expected to return with the participating pilgrims from the two Mohali villages.
Facilities promised under the pilgrimage plan
Accommodation and food will be provided to the participating elderly pilgrims during the journey by the Mann government. These arrangements are part of the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan under which the two buses departed today. The facilities cover the stay and meals of the elders while they travel to the named destinations and take part in the pilgrimage.
For the pilgrims leaving from Kandala and Balongi, the promised arrangements will support them throughout the trip. Their schedule includes visits to Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, along with Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. Accommodation and food remain part of the arrangements made under the plan as the buses proceed through the five-site itinerary.

Continue readingThe departure connects both Mohali villages with the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan through a single journey for elderly residents. Kandala and Balongi are represented by the two buses that left today, and the passengers will travel through the route identified for the programme. The destinations remain the same five locations: Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum.
The arrangements provided during the trip are intended to cover the basic needs of the elderly pilgrims as they move through the full route. Food and accommodation will be available during the journey while the passengers visit the religious, historical and cultural destinations named in the itinerary. These facilities form part of the pilgrimage plan for the buses that departed from Kandala and Balongi.
The journey thus combines the departure of elderly pilgrims from two Mohali villages with a five-location itinerary and support for their stay and meals. The Mohali pilgrimage buses have begun the trip under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan, carrying the elders towards Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum.
The Mohali pilgrimage buses have therefore begun a journey combining religious visits with places associated with history and public memory.
