Mohali: Mohali’s hospitality sector is set for another addition with Sunday Hotels signing an agreement for a new 55-key hotel property in the city. The upcoming hotel is expected to become operational towards the end of 2027, adding to the growing number of organised hospitality projects emerging across the Mohali-Chandigarh region.
The agreement forms part of Sunday Hotels’ broader expansion strategy in India, as the hospitality brand continues to enter business and leisure markets through new property partnerships. The 55-key Mohali project is among the latest additions to the company’s expansion plans.
The proposed hotel is expected to add to Mohali’s growing accommodation capacity and further strengthen the city’s position within the Chandigarh Tricity hospitality market. Mohali has witnessed significant growth in commercial activity, residential development, healthcare, education and business infrastructure, supporting increasing demand for quality accommodation.
The city’s proximity to Chandigarh and its connectivity with the airport, industrial areas and major commercial corridors have contributed to its growing appeal among hotel operators. The development of key corridors, including Airport Road, has also supported the expansion of commercial and business activity in the area.

Depending on the final configuration, the hotel could also support demand for dining, meetings, events and other hospitality services.
Sunday Hotels operates in the premium hospitality segment and has been expanding its presence across different Indian and international markets. The brand, launched in 2023, has followed an expansion model that includes partnerships with property owners and developers to establish hotels in selected business and leisure destinations.
The Mohali project comes as the wider Tricity hospitality market continues to attract interest from organised hotel operators. While Chandigarh remains an established business and tourism centre, Mohali has developed into an important commercial and technology hub, creating a wider market for hotels catering to corporate travellers, families, events and short-stay visitors.
Mohali’s connectivity is another factor supporting the city’s hospitality potential. Its location near Chandigarh International Airport and road links with Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh make it an important regional destination. Continued urban and infrastructure development could further support demand for accommodation in the coming years.

Branded hospitality projects can additionally generate business for local suppliers, contractors and service providers.
The project is expected to move through further development stages over the next two years, with the property currently targeted for launch towards the end of 2027. More details regarding its exact location, design, room configuration, amenities and other facilities are expected to emerge as the development progresses.
The announcement adds another name to Mohali’s evolving hospitality landscape, which already includes business hotels, premium properties, independent hotels and venues catering to events and corporate requirements.
With Sunday Hotels adding a 55-key Mohali property to its expansion pipeline, the project is expected to increase competition and choice within the organised hotel segment. For travellers and businesses, additional branded accommodation could provide more options for stays and events, while the local economy could benefit from new investment and hospitality-related activity.
The proposed hotel therefore forms part of Mohali’s broader transformation into a major business, healthcare, education and hospitality destination within the Tricity region. With its launch targeted for late 2027, the project is expected to add another branded property to the city’s steadily expanding hospitality infrastructure.
