MLA Kulwant Singh Strengthens ‘War Against Drugs’ Campaign in Mohali
As part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing mission to build a drug-free society, MLA Kulwant Singh met members of the War Against Drugs teams from various wards of SAS Nagar Mohali on 19 June 2026. The interaction focused on strengthening grassroots participation in the anti-drug campaign, encouraging volunteers working at the community level, and discussing practical measures to further enhance awareness and prevention efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the programme, MLA Kulwant Singh distributed identity cards (I-Cards) to members of the War Against Drugs teams in recognition of their commitment and contribution towards creating a drug-free Punjab. The volunteers shared their experiences from awareness drives conducted across different localities and discussed the challenges they face while reaching out to youth, families, educational institutions, and local communities. The interaction provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen coordination for more effective implementation of the campaign at the grassroots level.
MLA Kulwant Singh carefully listened to the suggestions and concerns raised by the volunteers and assured them that their genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned departments. He appreciated their dedication and selfless service in spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging citizens to actively participate in building healthier and safer communities. He noted that community volunteers play a vital role in creating awareness, guiding vulnerable individuals, and inspiring young people to choose a positive and responsible path.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that eliminating drug abuse requires the united efforts of the government, law enforcement agencies, community organisations, volunteers, and every responsible citizen. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains fully committed to making Punjab drug-free through sustained awareness campaigns, stronger community engagement, and coordinated action at every level. He added that the dedication and commitment shown by the volunteers are highly commendable and play an important role in achieving this shared objective.
He also expressed his gratitude to all members of the War Against Drugs teams for their valuable contribution towards social welfare and encouraged them to continue spreading awareness with the same enthusiasm and commitment. He assured them of the government’s continued support in strengthening the campaign and expanding its reach across every village, ward, and neighbourhood of Mohali.
