Mayor Attends Community Thanksgiving Programme for Councillor
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana attended a Thanksgiving Path organised at a Gurdwara Sahib to celebrate the electoral victory of Bibi Parminder Kaur Ji, who was elected as the Municipal Councillor (MC) from Ward No. 47 in the Mohali Municipal Corporation elections. The religious programme was organised by Bibi Parminder Kaur Ji and her husband, S. Gurjinder Singh Ji, as an expression of gratitude to the Almighty and the people for their blessings, trust, and overwhelming support.
During the programme, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana paid obeisance at the Gurdwara Sahib and joined the congregation in offering Ardas for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Mohali. He congratulated Bibi Parminder Kaur Ji and her family on the successful election victory and prayed that Guru Sahib blesses her with wisdom, strength, and dedication to serve the residents of Ward No. 47 with sincerity and commitment.
The thanksgiving ceremony was attended by family members, local residents, party workers, community leaders, and well-wishers, who came together in an atmosphere of faith, gratitude, and community harmony. The gathering reflected the Sikh values of humility, selfless service, and collective responsibility, while reinforcing the importance of beginning every new responsibility with the blessings of the Almighty.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana expressed confidence that the newly elected councillor would work tirelessly to address public concerns and contribute towards the development of her ward. He said that effective coordination between councillors, the Municipal Corporation, and the public is essential for strengthening civic infrastructure, improving municipal services, and ensuring balanced and inclusive development across Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that public representatives have a sacred responsibility to serve society with honesty, transparency, and dedication. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening local governance, improving civic infrastructure, and delivering efficient, citizen-centric services across the state. Congratulating Bibi Parminder Kaur Ji once again, he expressed confidence that she would fulfil the aspirations of the people of Ward No. 47 through dedicated public service. He also thanked S. Gurjinder Singh Ji, the family members, and the organisers for the warm welcome, respect, and hospitality extended during the programme.
The Mayor further encouraged all elected representatives to work in close coordination with residents and maintain regular public interaction so that local issues can be resolved effectively. He said that active public participation and transparent governance are essential for achieving sustainable urban development and strengthening public trust in democratic institutions.
