Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Directs Better Sanitation Management
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana conducted a comprehensive field inspection of Sectors 88, 89, and adjoining areas of SAS Nagar Mohali to review the city’s cleanliness arrangements, assess sanitation services, and monitor the condition of public spaces. The inspection was undertaken as part of the Municipal Corporation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen urban sanitation, improve civic amenities, and ensure a clean, healthy, and citizen-friendly environment across Mohali.
During the visit, the Mayor inspected major roads, internal streets, public parks, commercial areas, intersections, and other important public spaces to evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing cleanliness operations. He reviewed waste collection systems, sanitation management, sweeping operations, and the overall maintenance of civic infrastructure. The inspection also focused on identifying locations requiring immediate attention and ensuring that municipal services were being delivered efficiently and without interruption.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana interacted with Municipal Corporation officials and sanitation staff, directing them to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the area. He instructed the concerned departments to ensure timely garbage collection, regular sweeping, proper waste disposal, and continuous monitoring of sanitation activities. He emphasised that cleanliness should be maintained consistently across residential colonies, internal roads, markets, public spaces, and surrounding localities so that residents can enjoy a safe and hygienic environment.
The Mayor stressed that regular field inspections are essential for strengthening accountability, improving service delivery, and addressing civic issues before they affect the public. He directed officials to remain vigilant, respond promptly to sanitation-related complaints, and ensure that all cleanliness drives are carried out in a systematic and time-bound manner. He also encouraged residents to actively support the Municipal Corporation by maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings and participating in initiatives that promote a cleaner and greener Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that maintaining cleanliness and improving civic amenities remain among the Municipal Corporation’s highest priorities. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working to strengthen urban infrastructure, modernise sanitation services, and build cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable cities across the state. He added that strict monitoring of sanitation work will continue to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficient delivery of municipal services for the people of Mohali.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana further reaffirmed the Municipal Corporation’s commitment to strengthening waste management systems, enhancing public hygiene, and upgrading civic infrastructure through continuous supervision and timely action. He said that coordinated efforts between the administration and citizens are essential for achieving long-term cleanliness and sustainable urban development.
