Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Reaffirms Commitment to Citizen-Centric Governance During Public Meeting
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana held a public grievance meeting at his office in SAS Nagar Mohali, where residents from different sectors, wards, and villages met him to discuss civic and development-related issues affecting their respective localities. The interaction formed part of the Mayor’s regular public outreach programme aimed at strengthening direct communication with citizens and ensuring responsive, transparent, and people-centric governance.
During the meeting, residents raised concerns related to sanitation, road maintenance, drainage systems, street lighting, drinking water supply, waste management, parks, cleanliness, public infrastructure, and other municipal services under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation. Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana patiently heard each representation and assured citizens that all genuine issues would be forwarded to the concerned departments for immediate attention and timely resolution.
The Mayor emphasised that regular interaction with residents plays a vital role in identifying ground-level challenges and understanding the changing needs of different neighbourhoods. He stated that such meetings help the Municipal Corporation prioritise development works, improve service delivery, monitor the implementation of civic projects, and ensure that municipal services continue to meet public expectations.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana further directed the concerned Municipal Corporation officials to maintain close coordination with all relevant departments and ensure regular follow-up on the issues brought forward during the meeting. He said that accountability, transparency, and efficient grievance redressal remain essential for building public confidence and delivering quality civic services across Mohali.
Highlighting the importance of citizen participation in urban governance, the Mayor said that public feedback plays a crucial role in improving civic administration and planning future development initiatives. He reiterated that every genuine issue within the Municipal Corporation’s jurisdiction would be pursued until appropriate action is taken and satisfactory solutions are delivered.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that serving the people and addressing their concerns remains his highest priority. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working to strengthen urban infrastructure, modernise municipal services, and promote transparent, accountable, and citizen-friendly governance. He assured residents that every concern brought before him would receive due attention and that sincere efforts would be made to ensure the earliest possible resolution of all civic issues.
