Mohali: Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana on Sunday flagged off a bus carrying elderly pilgrims from Sector 67, Mohali, under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme.
The initiative is aimed at providing senior citizens with an opportunity to visit important religious, historical and cultural destinations in a convenient and organised manner.
Pilgrims to Visit Major Religious and Historical Sites
During the pilgrimage, the elderly devotees will visit several prominent destinations, including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum.
The group will undertake the scheduled pilgrimage before returning to Mohali after completing the visit.

Mayor Wishes Pilgrims a Safe and Fulfilling Journey
Speaking at the flag-off programme, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana extended his best wishes to all the pilgrims and wished them a safe, peaceful and spiritually fulfilling journey.
He said initiatives of this nature provide elderly residents with an opportunity to visit places of religious and historical importance without having to make complicated travel arrangements on their own.
The Mayor also interacted with the pilgrims before their departure and wished them a memorable journey.
Accommodation and Food Arrangements Under Scheme
Under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme, arrangements for food and accommodation will be provided to the participating pilgrims during the journey.
