Kulwant Singh Urges Mohali Residents to Participate in Census 2027 Self-Enumeration Drive
Highlighting the importance of accurate data for effective governance and future planning, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh has urged residents of the constituency to actively participate in the ongoing self-enumeration process for Census 2027.
The self-enumeration phase has commenced from April 30 and will continue until May 14, 2026. During this period, residents can submit their household details through the official online portal. This will be followed by a door-to-door enumeration drive from May 15 to June 13, 2026, during which appointed enumerators will visit households to collect data.
Kulwant Singh informed that the self-enumeration process enables families to register their information conveniently from home by filling out details on the portal. He noted that the process is simple, user-friendly, and designed to ensure wider participation.
“Participation in the census is a collective responsibility, as it plays a crucial role in shaping development policies, improving public services, and ensuring effective resource allocation,” he said, urging residents to take part actively.
He further stated that an extended survey will also be conducted in February 2027. Families who complete self-enumeration can streamline the process by presenting their self-enumeration ID to the visiting enumerator, while those who do not register online will have their information recorded during door-to-door visits. The MLA assured that all information collected during the census process will remain strictly confidential and secure. He appealed to residents across Mohali to cooperate fully with the enumerators to ensure a smooth and comprehensive exercise.
The initiative aims to ensure inclusive participation and accurate data collection, which are essential for the continued development of the region.
