MLA Kulwant Singh Interacts with Residents of Wards 16 and 19, Discusses Development and Civic Priorities
As part of ongoing public outreach initiatives in Mohali, MLA Kulwant Singh visited various localities in Wards No. 16 and 19 and interacted with residents while extending support to Aam Aadmi Party candidates Amarjit Singh and Jugwinder Kaur. The programme provided an opportunity for direct engagement with citizens and discussions on local development priorities, civic infrastructure, and public welfare initiatives.
During the interactions, residents shared their views on issues related to road maintenance, sanitation, street lighting, water supply, waste management, public amenities, and other municipal services. Such engagements help strengthen communication between citizens and public representatives while ensuring that development planning remains aligned with the needs and expectations of local communities.
Wards 16 and 19, like many other parts of SAS Nagar Mohali, continue to experience rapid urban growth and increasing demand for improved civic infrastructure and efficient public services. Municipal representatives play a crucial role in addressing these concerns by coordinating with civic authorities, monitoring development works, and ensuring the timely delivery of essential services.
The outreach programme highlighted the importance of regular interaction between residents and public representatives. Community engagement helps identify local priorities, promotes transparency, and strengthens accountability in governance. Such collaborative efforts contribute significantly to the successful implementation of development projects and public welfare initiatives at the grassroots level.
Mohali’s continued expansion has increased the need for responsive governance, quality infrastructure, and citizen-focused urban planning. Addressing these challenges requires coordinated efforts between local authorities, elected representatives, and community stakeholders to ensure balanced and sustainable development across all neighbourhoods.
Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government has been focusing on strengthening local governance, improving public services, and promoting citizen-centric development. Municipal representatives are expected to contribute to these objectives by addressing local concerns and supporting initiatives that directly benefit residents.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh emphasized that direct engagement with citizens is essential for understanding community needs and ensuring that development efforts are implemented effectively. He encouraged residents to remain actively involved in local affairs and support initiatives aimed at improving public welfare and civic amenities.
He further expressed confidence in Amarjit Singh and Jugwinder Kaur’s ability to work for the welfare of residents and contribute towards strengthening civic infrastructure and community development in their respective wards. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that development projects continue to address the needs and aspirations of local communities.
The programme concluded with discussions between residents, community leaders, and local representatives, reflecting the importance of democratic participation and grassroots engagement. As Mohali continues its journey of urban development, the focus remains on improving civic services, enhancing infrastructure, and ensuring inclusive growth that benefits all sections of society.
