Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh Receives Memorandum from Farmers on Aerotropolis Land Acquisition, Assures Support
Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh met representatives of the Puadh Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Morcha Committee at his office, where a memorandum was submitted regarding land acquisition for the Aerotropolis project.
During the meeting, leaders and representatives of the farmers’ group presented their conditions, stating that affected farmers would agree to provide land for the project only after their demands are accepted. The memorandum outlined concerns related to compensation, terms of acquisition, and safeguards for farmers.
It was also highlighted that panchayats and farmers from several villages, including Bakarpur, Chhat, Kishanpura, Badi, Matran, Siaon, Kurdi, and Patton, have collectively passed resolutions. They have expressed willingness to part with their land only if their conditions are fulfilled; otherwise, they would not agree to the acquisition.
The MLA assured the delegation that their concerns and demands would be strongly taken up with the government. He emphasized that efforts would be made to ensure that all legitimate issues raised by farmers are addressed in a fair and satisfactory manner. The meeting reflects ongoing engagement between public representatives and stakeholders on key development projects, balancing infrastructure growth with the concerns of affected communities
