Kulwant Singh Distributes Housing Assistance to Needy Families in Mohali, Highlights Ongoing Welfare Support
Kulwant Singh, MLA of MLA Mohali, facilitated the distribution of financial assistance to needy families in the constituency under ongoing housing support initiatives.
As part of the Rangla Punjab Scheme, 32 families identified for support in repairing or constructing basic housing units are set to benefit. On the day, 18 families were provided sanction letters for financial assistance of ₹2 lakh each, while the remaining beneficiaries are expected to receive support in the coming phase. The funds will be transferred to Panchayat accounts, and construction will be carried out under the supervision of the BDPO office.
In addition, families whose houses were damaged due to rainwater are being supported under central housing assistance provisions. A total of 39 affected households are receiving financial aid directly into their accounts to enable reconstruction. The assistance is structured in phases, with instalments provided at different stages of construction, along with support for labour.
Additional provisions include support for sanitation infrastructure, where eligible households without toilets will receive separate financial assistance through MGNREGA to construct them.
The initiative reflects the welfare-focused governance approach under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, with implementation support at the constituency level by the Aam Aadmi Party Mohali.
Beneficiary families welcomed the support, noting that such assistance will help improve living conditions and provide much-needed relief.
