MLA Kulwant Singh participated in a Lok Milni programme in Village Jhampur, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 27 June 2026, where he interacted with local residents, reviewed public grievances, and inaugurated a new rainwater drainage pipeline project. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the village’s drainage infrastructure, preventing waterlogging during the monsoon season, and improving overall civic amenities as part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing rural development efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the public interaction, residents from Jhampur raised various issues related to civic infrastructure, sanitation, public utilities, and other local development priorities. A major highlight of the programme was the inauguration of the rainwater drainage pipeline project, which is expected to significantly improve rainwater management in the village. Once completed, the new drainage system will help reduce waterlogging, protect village roads and residential areas during heavy rainfall, improve sanitation, and create a cleaner and healthier environment for residents. The project is expected to enhance the overall quality of civic infrastructure while supporting long-term sustainable development in the village.
The development work forms part of the Punjab Government’s broader commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and expanding essential public facilities across SAS Nagar Mohali. Investments in drainage systems, roads, sanitation, drinking water supply, and other civic amenities continue to play an important role in improving living standards and ensuring balanced development across both urban and rural areas of the constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that strengthening basic civic infrastructure remains one of the highest priorities for improving the everyday lives of residents. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to delivering development that directly benefits the people through better public services and modern infrastructure. He added that regular interaction with citizens helps identify local priorities and ensures that development projects are implemented in a transparent, efficient, and timely manner.
He further encouraged residents to continue participating in public meetings and share their suggestions for the development of their village. He noted that active community participation, along with close coordination between government departments and local representatives, is essential for achieving sustainable and inclusive development.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening public infrastructure, improving citizen services, and accelerating rural development across SAS Nagar Mohali.
