MLA Kulwant Singh Reviews Public Issues During Barmajra Lok Milni
A Lok Milni programme was organised in Village Barmajra, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 7 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with local residents to review ongoing development works, discuss public welfare initiatives, and understand the development priorities of the village. The programme served as an important platform for direct public engagement, enabling villagers to share their concerns while receiving updates on the Punjab Government’s development agenda under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the interaction, residents were informed about the major development projects and welfare schemes implemented across SAS Nagar Mohali over the past four and a half years. Discussions covered improvements in road connectivity, drinking water supply, sanitation, rural infrastructure, healthcare, education, public utilities, citizen services, and various welfare programmes aimed at improving the quality of life across both villages and urban areas. Villagers also shared suggestions regarding local development priorities and appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with their elected representative.
As part of the programme, a special documentary based on the life, teachings, and social philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji was screened for the gathering. The documentary highlighted his timeless message of equality, social justice, human dignity, harmony, and selfless service. Residents welcomed the initiative and appreciated the Punjab Government’s efforts to promote awareness of the teachings of great saints and social reformers whose values continue to inspire unity, mutual respect, and social progress.
The programme reflected the importance of combining infrastructure development with social awareness and community participation. Regular Lok Milni programmes strengthen communication between citizens and the administration, improve transparency in governance, and help ensure that development initiatives remain aligned with the genuine needs of local communities. Such interactions also create greater awareness about government schemes while encouraging citizens to actively participate in the development process.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that true progress is achieved not only through stronger infrastructure but also by promoting the values of equality, unity, and social responsibility. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening public infrastructure, expanding citizen services, implementing welfare programmes, and preserving Punjab’s rich social and cultural heritage. He added that regular interaction with residents helps ensure that governance remains transparent, inclusive, and focused on the aspirations of every community.
He further encouraged villagers to continue participating in public meetings and contribute constructive suggestions for the development of their village. He emphasised that cooperation between citizens, elected representatives, and government departments is essential for achieving balanced growth and building stronger communities across Mohali.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating development works, strengthening rural infrastructure, promoting social harmony, and improving public services throughout SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in essential infrastructure, citizen-focused governance, community welfare initiatives, and programmes that encourage social awareness, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to creating a stronger, more inclusive, and prosperous future for the people of Mohali.
