Mata Dharat Maan Yojana Promotes Women’s Financial Empowerment Across Mohali
A major step towards women’s empowerment and financial inclusion was witnessed across SAS Nagar Mohali as eligible beneficiaries began receiving financial assistance under the Punjab Government’s Mata Dharat Maan Yojana. Launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the flagship welfare initiative aims to strengthen the financial security of women through direct benefit transfers while promoting inclusive growth and social welfare across the state.
Following the successful transfer of the first instalment, which included financial assistance for the initial three-month period, a large number of women from different villages, sectors, and localities of the Mohali constituency visited the office of MLA Kulwant Singh. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and shared that the financial support would help them manage essential household expenses, healthcare, children’s education, and other day-to-day needs. The interaction reflected the growing confidence among women regarding welfare initiatives designed to improve financial independence and enhance their quality of life.
The Mata Dharat Maan Yojana has been introduced to provide direct financial assistance to eligible women by transferring funds directly into their bank accounts. The initiative has been designed to ensure transparency, efficiency, and timely delivery of government benefits while strengthening financial inclusion. The scheme is expected to benefit thousands of women across Mohali, particularly those from economically deserving families, enabling them to become more financially secure and self-reliant.
During the programme, women appreciated the Punjab Government’s continued emphasis on welfare initiatives that directly support families and strengthen the role of women in society. The gathering also served as an awareness platform where beneficiaries received information about the scheme and other government welfare programmes available to eligible citizens. Such initiatives play an important role in expanding social security and ensuring that the benefits of public welfare schemes reach every deserving household.
The scheme reflects the Punjab Government’s broader vision of promoting women’s empowerment, financial inclusion, and citizen-centric governance. Alongside infrastructure development and improved public services, special emphasis continues to be placed on programmes that enhance the social and economic well-being of women across both urban and rural areas of Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the empowerment of women is fundamental to building stronger families, healthier communities, and a more progressive society. He stated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, remains committed to implementing welfare initiatives that directly improve the lives of women while ensuring that government assistance reaches every deserving beneficiary in a transparent and timely manner.
He further said that the Mata Dharat Maan Yojana is an important step towards strengthening the financial independence of women and enhancing their confidence to contribute more actively to their families and society. He expressed confidence that the scheme would provide meaningful support to thousands of women and further strengthen social welfare across Punjab.
The successful rollout of the scheme marks another milestone in the Punjab Government’s efforts to promote inclusive development, financial empowerment, and social security. As more eligible beneficiaries receive assistance under the Mata Dharat Maan Yojana, the initiative is expected to contribute significantly towards improving the quality of life of women, strengthening household financial stability, and building stronger, more self-reliant communities across SAS Nagar Mohali.
