Chhabeel Seva Organized in Phase 7, Mohali with Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Honoring Guru Arjan Dev Ji
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana participated in a Chhabeel Seva organised by local residents at Phase 7, SAS Nagar Mohali, to commemorate the supreme sacrifice and martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the Fifth Sikh Guru. The Chhabeel, where chilled sweetened water was served to the public, symbolised the Sikh values of selfless service (Seva), compassion, humility, and humanity.
During the event, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana paid floral tributes to the sacred memory of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the residents, volunteers, and organisers who came together to conduct the Chhabeel Seva. He interacted with the volunteers, encouraged their spirit of community service, and acknowledged their commitment to preserving Punjab’s rich religious and cultural traditions through acts of kindness and service.
A large number of residents from different parts of Mohali visited the Chhabeel to participate in the Seva and pay homage to Guru Sahib’s teachings of sacrifice, equality, peace, and universal brotherhood. The event served as a reminder of the timeless message of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, inspiring people to strengthen social harmony and extend compassion towards those in need.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that the teachings of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji continue to guide society towards the path of peace, tolerance, and selfless service. He stated that community initiatives such as Chhabeel not only honour the Guru’s everlasting legacy but also foster unity, mutual respect, and a strong sense of togetherness among people from all walks of life.
The Mayor further said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to preserving the state’s rich spiritual, religious, and cultural heritage while encouraging public participation in social and community welfare activities. He emphasised that the ideals of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji continue to inspire every generation to serve humanity with humility, dedication, and compassion.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana congratulated the organisers for successfully conducting the Chhabeel Seva and thanked all volunteers for their invaluable contribution. He prayed for the peace, prosperity, good health, and well-being of the people of Mohali and Punjab.
