Mohali: Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana, accompanied by concerned Municipal Corporation officials, inspected the RMC points at Phase 3A, Phase 6 and Mataur to review waste management, sanitation and cleanliness arrangements at the designated collection sites.
During the field visit, the Mayor assessed the condition of the RMC points and interacted with officials regarding the existing system of waste collection and handling. He sought details about the arrangements at the locations and discussed areas requiring attention to ensure better maintenance.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana directed the concerned officials to strengthen cleanliness arrangements at the RMC points and ensure that waste is handled and cleared regularly. He emphasised the need to prevent unnecessary accumulation of garbage and maintain the surrounding areas in a clean and organised condition.
The inspection was also aimed at identifying practical requirements at the ground level. The Mayor reviewed the functioning of the waste management arrangements and stressed that sanitation teams should remain attentive to the condition of the collection points so that issues can be addressed without unnecessary delay.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that cleanliness and efficient waste management are essential for maintaining a healthy and well-managed city. He said regular inspections help authorities understand the actual situation at civic service points and take corrective measures wherever necessary.
The Mayor further directed officials to maintain regular monitoring of the RMC points and ensure timely cleaning and waste clearance. He also emphasised better coordination between Municipal Corporation officials and sanitation teams to improve the overall efficiency of waste management services.
He said that civic services require continuous monitoring and that maintaining cleanliness cannot be limited to occasional drives. Regular supervision, timely collection and proper handling of waste are necessary to keep public spaces clean and prevent sanitation-related problems.
Mayor Samana also stressed the importance of maintaining the areas surrounding the RMC points. Proper upkeep of these locations can help reduce inconvenience for nearby residents and contribute to a cleaner environment across different parts of SAS Nagar Mohali.
The field inspection reflects the Municipal Corporation’s focus on reviewing civic services directly at the ground level.
