Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Strengthens Public Outreach Through Phase 7 Market Visit
SAS Nagar, Mohali: Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana attended a meeting organised by the Punjab Trade Commission with traders, shopkeepers, and market association members at Phase 7 Market, SAS Nagar Mohali, where he interacted with the local business community and listened to their concerns regarding civic infrastructure, commercial development, and municipal services.
The meeting witnessed the participation of a large number of traders, business owners, and representatives of the Punjab Trade Commission, who discussed various issues affecting the day-to-day functioning of the market. During the interaction, participants highlighted concerns related to sanitation, road maintenance, drainage systems, parking facilities, street lighting, waste management, traffic regulation, and other civic amenities essential for the smooth operation of commercial establishments and the convenience of customers.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana patiently heard the grievances and valuable suggestions presented by the traders and assured them that every issue falling under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation would be examined and taken up with the concerned departments for prompt and effective resolution. He stated that regular interaction with the business community enables the Municipal Corporation to better understand local requirements and implement practical solutions that benefit both traders and the public.
Addressing the gathering, the Mayor said that traders and shopkeepers are among the key contributors to Mohali’s economic growth and employment generation. He emphasised that creating a clean, organised, and business-friendly environment through improved civic infrastructure and efficient municipal services remains a priority for the Municipal Corporation. He also encouraged market associations and traders to continue cooperating with civic authorities in maintaining cleanliness, promoting responsible waste disposal, and enhancing the overall appearance of commercial areas.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana further stated that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is consistently working towards strengthening urban infrastructure, improving municipal services, and ensuring sustainable development across cities and towns. He reiterated that the Municipal Corporation, SAS Nagar Mohali, remains committed to working closely with traders, market associations, and government departments to resolve civic issues efficiently and improve the overall business environment.
