Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Inspects Development Works, Emphasises Better Civic Services in Sector 70
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana conducted an on-ground inspection of Sector 70, Ward No. 34, SAS Nagar Mohali, to review the condition of civic infrastructure and interact directly with local residents regarding municipal services. The visit formed part of the Municipal Corporation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen citizen-centric governance through regular field inspections and prompt resolution of civic issues.
During the inspection, residents apprised the Mayor of various concerns relating to cleanliness, garbage collection, road maintenance, drainage, parks, street sanitation, and other municipal services. Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana personally visited different locations within the sector to assess the existing civic infrastructure and evaluate the quality of public amenities available to residents.
The Mayor inspected parks, internal roads, drainage networks, sanitation arrangements, and waste management systems while interacting with local citizens to understand their day-to-day concerns. He emphasised that maintaining clean public spaces, efficient drainage systems, properly maintained parks, and effective waste management are essential for creating a healthy, safe, and environmentally sustainable urban environment.
Taking immediate cognisance of the issues highlighted by residents, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned Municipal Corporation officials to accelerate the cleaning of roads and drains, strengthen garbage collection mechanisms, improve sanitation standards, and ensure regular maintenance of parks and other public infrastructure. He instructed officials to complete the necessary works within stipulated timelines and maintain continuous monitoring to prevent the recurrence of civic problems.
The Mayor stated that regular field inspections provide first-hand information about the actual condition of municipal services and help the administration respond more efficiently to local requirements. He noted that direct interaction with residents enables the Municipal Corporation to identify priority areas, improve service delivery, and ensure that civic development works are implemented transparently and effectively.
Highlighting the importance of responsive governance, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that the Municipal Corporation remains committed to delivering quality civic services through continuous monitoring, better coordination among departments, and timely execution of development works. He added that regular inspections across different wards will continue to strengthen accountability and improve public service delivery throughout the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is consistently working towards strengthening urban infrastructure, improving municipal services, and promoting transparent and citizen-friendly governance. He assured residents that every genuine issue brought to the notice of the Municipal Corporation would receive prompt attention and that sustained efforts would be made to enhance cleanliness, sanitation, waste management, green spaces, and overall civic infrastructure across Mohali.
The inspection of Sector 70 reflects the Municipal Corporation’s continued emphasis on proactive governance, efficient municipal administration, and public participation in urban development.
