Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Inspects Sector 70 Park, Orders Civic Improvement Measures
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana visited the public park in Ward No. 33, Sector 70, SAS Nagar Mohali, along with Councillor Bibi Gurpreet Kaur, to review civic infrastructure, inspect park maintenance, and interact directly with local residents. The visit formed part of the Municipal Corporation’s ongoing initiative to strengthen neighbourhood amenities, improve public spaces, and ensure better civic services across the city.
During the visit, the Mayor met residents of the area and held detailed discussions regarding issues affecting the locality. Citizens shared suggestions and highlighted concerns related to park maintenance, cleanliness, drainage, horticulture, and other civic facilities. Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana carefully listened to every representation and assured residents that all genuine issues falling under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation would be addressed on priority.
Following the public interaction, the Mayor conducted a detailed inspection of the park and surrounding civic infrastructure. He reviewed the condition of walking paths, green areas, drainage channels, and overall maintenance arrangements. Stressing the importance of timely upkeep, he directed the concerned Municipal Corporation officials to undertake comprehensive cleaning of the park, prune overgrown trees and shrubs, improve landscaping wherever required, and ensure proper rainwater drainage to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon season.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana further instructed officials to carry out regular inspections and maintenance so that the park remains clean, safe, and accessible for senior citizens, children, walkers, and families who use the public space on a daily basis. He emphasised that preventive maintenance and continuous monitoring are essential for preserving public assets and delivering better civic amenities to residents.
Addressing the gathering, the Mayor said that parks play an important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle, environmental sustainability, and community well-being. Well-maintained green spaces not only improve the city’s appearance but also provide residents with safe and comfortable recreational areas. He added that cleanliness, efficient drainage, and proper horticultural maintenance remain among the Municipal Corporation’s key priorities.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana stated that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working to strengthen urban infrastructure, enhance civic services, and improve public facilities throughout SAS Nagar Mohali. He said the Municipal Corporation remains committed to upgrading parks, improving drainage systems, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that every ward receives quality civic infrastructure and responsive public services.
He also assured residents that their valuable suggestions would be carefully considered and that officials had been directed to complete the required improvement works in a timely manner. He encouraged citizens to continue participating actively in community development and to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in maintaining clean, green, and well-managed neighbourhoods.
