Senior Pilgrims from Mohali’s Sector 66 Begin Spiritual Journey Under Government Scheme
Buses carrying senior devotees from Sector 66, Mohali, departed on 19 August 2026 for a religious and historical pilgrimage under the Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Scheme.
The pilgrimage will take the elderly devotees to several important religious and historical destinations, including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Partition Museum, along with other places of significance.
The journey will provide senior citizens with an opportunity to visit revered religious sites, pay obeisance, and explore destinations associated with the rich religious, cultural, and historical heritage of Punjab. The participation of senior devotees from Sector 66 reflects the interest among elderly residents in undertaking organised pilgrimage journeys through the government initiative.
Under the arrangements made for the pilgrimage, participating devotees will be provided travel facilities, accommodation, and meals by the Punjab Government. These arrangements are intended to make the journey more convenient for senior citizens by ensuring that essential requirements are taken care of during the pilgrimage.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Scheme provides senior citizens with an opportunity to undertake religious journeys in an organised and convenient manner. He said that arrangements for travel, accommodation, and meals help make such journeys more accessible and comfortable for elderly residents.
MLA Kulwant Singh extended his best wishes to all the pilgrims and prayed for their safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling journey. He also wished the devotees good health and expressed hope that their visit to the religious and historical destinations would be a memorable experience.
