Sector 78 Mohali Sends Off Senior Citizens for Pilgrimage Under Tirath Yatra Scheme
A bus carrying senior pilgrims from Sector 78, Mohali, departed on 19 August 2026 for a religious and historical journey under the Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Scheme.
The pilgrimage will take the elderly devotees to several significant religious and historical destinations, including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Partition Museum. The journey will give the pilgrims an opportunity to visit important places of faith while also gaining an understanding of Punjab’s rich religious, cultural, and historical heritage.
The Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Scheme aims to facilitate pilgrimage journeys for senior citizens by providing organised travel arrangements. Under the scheme, participating pilgrims are provided essential facilities including accommodation and meals, enabling them to undertake the journey with greater convenience and without the need to make separate arrangements for these requirements.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Scheme provides senior citizens with an opportunity to undertake important religious journeys in an organised and convenient manner. He said that providing travel facilities along with accommodation and meals helps elderly pilgrims undertake such journeys with greater comfort.
MLA Kulwant Singh extended his best wishes to all the pilgrims and prayed for their safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling journey. He also expressed hope that the participants would return with memorable experiences from their visits to the religious and historical destinations.
