MLA Kulwant Singh Reviews Public Issues During Jujhar Nagar Community Meeting
A community interaction programme was organised in Village Jujhar Nagar, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 7 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh met local residents to discuss ongoing development works, public welfare initiatives, and the future development priorities of the village. The programme served as an important platform for direct public engagement, enabling residents to interact with their elected representative while learning about the Punjab Government’s citizen-centric initiatives under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the interaction, residents were briefed on the major development projects and welfare schemes implemented across SAS Nagar Mohali over the past four and a half years. Discussions covered improvements in road connectivity, drinking water supply, sanitation, rural infrastructure, healthcare, education, public utilities, citizen services, and various welfare programmes aimed at improving the quality of life across both villages and urban areas. Villagers also shared their suggestions, discussed local development priorities, and highlighted issues requiring further attention.
A special documentary based on the life, teachings, and social philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji was also screened during the programme. The documentary highlighted his timeless message of equality, social justice, human dignity, brotherhood, and communal harmony. Residents appreciated the initiative, which encouraged reflection on the values of unity, compassion, and selfless service while inspiring greater social awareness within the community.
The programme demonstrated that sustainable development is strengthened when infrastructure development goes hand in hand with social awareness and active public participation. Community meetings such as these help improve transparency, strengthen communication between citizens and the administration, and ensure that development initiatives remain responsive to local needs. They also provide an effective platform for increasing awareness about government schemes while encouraging greater participation in the development process.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that meaningful progress is achieved by combining development with social responsibility and community participation. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening public infrastructure, improving citizen services, and implementing welfare programmes that directly benefit every section of society. He added that the teachings of great saints and social reformers like Sri Guru Ravidas Ji continue to inspire the values of equality, harmony, and inclusive development, which are essential for building a stronger society.
He further encouraged residents to actively participate in community development and continue contributing constructive suggestions for the progress of their village. He emphasised that cooperation between citizens, elected representatives, and government departments is the key to ensuring transparent governance and balanced development across Mohali.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating development works, strengthening rural infrastructure, promoting social harmony, and improving public services across SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in essential infrastructure, citizen-focused governance, community welfare initiatives, and programmes that promote social awareness, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to building stronger communities and creating a more prosperous future for the people of Mohali.
