Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Inaugurates Green Park During Van Mahotsav in Mohali
On the occasion of Van Mahotsav, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana inaugurated a newly developed green park in Sector 94, SAS Nagar Mohali, and dedicated it to the residents of the area. The inauguration reflects the Municipal Corporation’s continued commitment to promoting environmental conservation, expanding urban green spaces, and enhancing the quality of life through sustainable development. The park has been designed as a vibrant community space where people of all age groups can enjoy a healthy, clean, and peaceful environment.
The newly developed park offers modern landscaping, walking pathways, green lawns, shaded seating areas, and open recreational space for families, children, senior citizens, and fitness enthusiasts. Developed with a focus on environmental sustainability and public convenience, the park will provide residents with a welcoming space for morning walks, exercise, relaxation, and social interaction while contributing to a greener and healthier urban environment.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana emphasised the importance of preserving nature and expanding green infrastructure in rapidly developing urban areas. He said that trees and parks are among the most valuable assets of a city, helping improve air quality, reduce pollution, maintain ecological balance, and promote physical as well as mental well-being. He encouraged citizens to actively participate in tree plantation drives and environmental conservation so that future generations can inherit a cleaner and more sustainable Mohali.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana also appreciated the valuable support extended by the team of Janata Land Promoters Ltd. in the development of the park. He thanked the management and staff for their cooperation in creating a high-quality public facility that will serve the residents of Sector 94 for many years. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working towards sustainable urban development, modern civic infrastructure, and the creation of cleaner, greener cities. He stated that the development of parks and open green spaces remains an important part of the government’s vision for improving public health, encouraging community engagement, and making Mohali a more liveable and environmentally responsible city.

He appealed to residents to protect public parks, maintain cleanliness, and actively participate in plantation drives so that Mohali continues to grow as a model city known for its environmental consciousness and high quality of life.
