Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Leads Municipal Development Strategy Meeting
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Municipal Corporation Office, SAS Nagar Mohali, with the Senior Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and councillors to assess ward-wise development works, review civic issues, and strengthen coordination for the timely delivery of municipal services. The meeting was organised to evaluate the progress of ongoing development projects, discuss public grievances, and formulate strategies for improving civic infrastructure across all wards of Mohali.
During the meeting, councillors from different wards presented the civic concerns and development requirements of their respective areas. Detailed discussions were held on issues relating to road maintenance, sewerage, drainage, sanitation, drinking water supply, street lighting, waste management, cleanliness, parks, public infrastructure, and other essential municipal services. The elected representatives also shared valuable suggestions for improving civic amenities and accelerating development works in their wards to better serve the needs of residents.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana carefully reviewed every issue raised during the meeting and stressed the importance of strong coordination between elected representatives, Municipal Corporation officials, and concerned departments. He observed that regular review meetings help identify ward-level priorities, improve planning, strengthen accountability, and ensure the efficient implementation of development projects. He further emphasised that continuous monitoring of ongoing works is essential to maintaining quality standards and ensuring their timely completion.
The Mayor directed the concerned officials to examine all pending matters on priority and initiate prompt action wherever required. He instructed departments to maintain regular follow-up on development projects, address civic complaints without unnecessary delay, and ensure that residents receive efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly municipal services. He also encouraged councillors to continue engaging with residents and bring forward genuine public concerns so that timely solutions can be implemented.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that effective governance is achieved through teamwork, transparency, and continuous coordination among elected representatives and government officials. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening urban infrastructure, modernising civic amenities, and delivering responsive, citizen-centric governance across the state. He added that regular interaction with councillors enables the Municipal Corporation to understand local requirements more effectively and ensures that development projects are implemented according to the needs and aspirations of the people.
He further reaffirmed the Municipal Corporation’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure development, improving public services, and ensuring balanced growth across every ward of Mohali. He expressed confidence that the collective efforts of councillors, officials, and citizens would continue to strengthen urban governance and contribute to building a cleaner, greener, smarter, and more progressive city.
