Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Reviews Ward Development with Deputy Mayors and Councillors
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Municipal Corporation Office, SAS Nagar Mohali, with the Senior Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and councillors to assess ward-wise development works, review civic infrastructure, and discuss public grievances from different parts of the city. The meeting focused on strengthening coordination among elected representatives and ensuring the timely execution of development projects and municipal services across all wards.
During the meeting, councillors from various wards highlighted the development requirements and civic concerns of their respective areas. Discussions covered a broad range of municipal issues, including roads, sewerage, sanitation, drainage, street lighting, drinking water supply, cleanliness, parks, waste management, and other essential public services. Each councillor presented the concerns of local residents and sought early action on pending development works and civic complaints.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana carefully reviewed every issue raised during the meeting and emphasised the importance of close coordination between elected representatives, Municipal Corporation officials, and field departments. He stated that regular review meetings help identify ward-level priorities, improve planning, strengthen accountability, and ensure that development projects are implemented efficiently and in accordance with the needs of the people.
The Mayor directed the concerned departments to examine all matters discussed during the meeting and initiate prompt action wherever required. He instructed officials to maintain regular follow-up on pending works, monitor the progress of ongoing development projects, and ensure that public grievances are resolved without unnecessary delay. He stressed that continuous supervision, effective coordination, and timely implementation are essential for delivering high-quality municipal services.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that teamwork among elected representatives is the foundation of responsive and effective local governance. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening urban infrastructure, modernising civic amenities, and delivering transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric services across the state. He added that regular interaction with councillors enables the Municipal Corporation to better understand ward-level requirements and ensures that development initiatives directly benefit local communities.
The Mayor also encouraged councillors to remain actively engaged with residents and continue bringing local issues to the attention of the Municipal Corporation. He said that constructive feedback from elected representatives plays a crucial role in improving municipal planning, prioritising development works, and enhancing the overall quality of civic administration.
