Public infrastructure in Pato village, SAS Nagar Mohali, received a major boost on 12 July 2026 with the inauguration of a new Solar LED Street Lighting Project. The project was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) to enhance public safety, improve village infrastructure, and promote the use of clean and renewable energy in rural areas.

MLA Kulwant Singh attended the inauguration programme along with local residents, community leaders, and public representatives. The newly installed solar-powered LED street lights are expected to significantly improve visibility on village roads and public spaces, making movement safer for pedestrians, commuters, women, senior citizens, and school-going children during evening and night hours.
