RCC Benches Added to Improve Public Comfort in Kurda
Community infrastructure in Kurda village, SAS Nagar Mohali, received a significant boost on 12 July 2026 with the inauguration and dedication of newly installed RCC benches for public use. The project was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), with the objective of enhancing public amenities and providing comfortable seating facilities for villagers at important community locations.
MLA Kulwant Singh participated in the inauguration programme along with local residents, community leaders, and public representatives. The newly installed RCC benches are expected to benefit senior citizens, visitors, women, and other residents by offering convenient seating in public spaces. The initiative will not only improve community facilities but also encourage greater social interaction, making common areas more comfortable, accessible, and people-friendly.
Following the inauguration, a Lok Milni programme was organised in the village, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with residents and reviewed local development priorities. During the interaction, villagers were informed about various development projects and public welfare initiatives undertaken across SAS Nagar Mohali under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Discussions highlighted progress in rural infrastructure, roads, healthcare, education, sanitation, public utilities, and other citizen-centric initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life across the constituency.
The Lok Milni programme also provided residents with an opportunity to raise local issues and share valuable suggestions regarding village development. MLA Kulwant Singh listened attentively to the concerns of the villagers and assured them that all genuine matters would be taken up with the concerned departments for timely and effective resolution. Such public interactions strengthen communication between citizens and the administration, promote transparency in governance, and help ensure that future development projects are aligned with the actual needs of local communities.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that strengthening village infrastructure and maintaining continuous dialogue with residents are essential for balanced and inclusive development. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to improving public infrastructure, expanding citizen-centric services, and implementing welfare initiatives that directly benefit people across Punjab. He also expressed his gratitude to Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang for providing the RCC benches through the MPLADS Fund and said that public feedback received during Lok Milni programmes plays an important role in shaping future development plans.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to the continued development of Kurda village and the overall progress of SAS Nagar Mohali. Through coordinated efforts, improved community infrastructure, responsive governance, and active public participation, the Punjab Government, Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang, and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to enhancing public amenities, strengthening rural development, and improving the quality of life for every resident.
