Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Encourages Public Participation in Civic Governance
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana met residents from different sectors, wards, and villages of SAS Nagar Mohali at his office during a public grievance meeting organised to strengthen citizen engagement and ensure responsive governance. The interaction provided residents with a direct platform to discuss civic concerns, development priorities, and issues affecting their localities while seeking timely intervention from the Municipal Corporation.
During the meeting, citizens highlighted various matters related to roads, sanitation, sewerage, drainage, street lighting, drinking water supply, cleanliness, parks, waste management, and other municipal services. Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana patiently listened to every representation, reviewed each issue in detail, and assured the residents that all genuine concerns would be examined carefully and forwarded to the concerned departments for immediate action and timely resolution.
The Mayor emphasised that regular public grievance meetings are an important part of transparent and people-centric governance. He said that direct interaction with residents enables the Municipal Corporation to better understand ground-level challenges, identify development priorities, and improve the quality and efficiency of civic services. He added that continuous public participation also strengthens accountability, transparency, and better coordination between citizens and the administration.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana directed the concerned officials to take prompt action on the issues raised during the meeting and ensure regular follow-up until the matters are resolved. He stressed that every complaint falling within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation should be addressed without unnecessary delay so that residents receive efficient and reliable civic services. He also encouraged citizens to continue sharing constructive suggestions and actively participate in the city’s development process.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that serving the people of Mohali with honesty, transparency, and accountability remains his foremost responsibility. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working to strengthen urban infrastructure, modernise municipal services, and deliver citizen-centric governance across the state. He assured the residents that every genuine issue brought to his notice would receive sincere attention and that the Municipal Corporation would continue working tirelessly to improve public amenities and enhance the quality of life for every citizen.
The Mayor further reaffirmed that regular interaction with residents is essential for ensuring inclusive and sustainable urban development. He said that public feedback provides valuable guidance for planning future infrastructure projects and improving civic administration in line with the expectations of the people.
