Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Holds Open Meeting with Mohali Residents
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana met residents from different sectors, wards, and villages of SAS Nagar Mohali at his office to hear their concerns, review civic issues, and discuss matters related to public welfare and local development. The interaction formed part of the Municipal Corporation’s ongoing initiative to maintain direct communication with citizens and ensure that public grievances are addressed efficiently and transparently.
During the meeting, residents presented a wide range of civic concerns affecting their localities, including sanitation, road maintenance, drainage, street lighting, water supply, waste management, public cleanliness, and other municipal services. Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana patiently listened to each representation and assured the citizens that all genuine issues would be forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt action and effective resolution.
Addressing the gathering, the Mayor emphasised that regular interaction with residents is essential for responsive and accountable governance. He said that direct public engagement enables the Municipal Corporation to understand ground-level challenges, identify priority areas, and ensure that development works are carried out in accordance with the needs and expectations of the people.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana further stated that every complaint and suggestion received from residents is carefully reviewed, and officials are directed to take timely corrective measures wherever required. He stressed that continuous monitoring, regular follow-up, and transparent administration are key to improving civic amenities and strengthening public confidence in local governance.
He also encouraged citizens to actively participate in the development of their neighbourhoods by sharing constructive suggestions and reporting civic issues promptly. According to the Mayor, cooperation between residents and the Municipal Corporation plays an important role in creating cleaner, safer, and better-managed communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that serving the people of Mohali remains his foremost responsibility. He added that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening urban infrastructure, enhancing municipal services, and promoting transparent, citizen-centric governance across the state. He assured residents that every issue falling within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation would receive due attention and sincere efforts would be made to ensure its early resolution.
The meeting once again reflected the Municipal Corporation’s commitment to accessible governance, active citizen participation, and continuous public engagement.
