Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Meets Citizens, Reviews Local Development and Civic Services
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana met residents from different sectors, wards, and villages of SAS Nagar Mohali at his office to hear their concerns, review civic issues, and discuss matters related to public welfare and local development. The interaction was organised as part of the Mayor’s ongoing public outreach programme, aimed at maintaining direct communication with citizens and ensuring that civic concerns receive timely attention from the Municipal Corporation.
During the meeting, residents highlighted a range of issues affecting their neighbourhoods, including sanitation, road maintenance, drainage, street lighting, water supply, waste management, public cleanliness, parks, and other municipal services. Citizens also shared suggestions for improving civic infrastructure and enhancing the quality of public amenities in their respective localities. Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana listened attentively to every representation and assured residents that all genuine matters falling within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation would be taken up with the concerned departments for prompt action.
Addressing the gathering, the Mayor emphasised that regular interaction with residents is a key pillar of responsive and transparent governance. He said that direct engagement with citizens enables the administration to better understand ground-level challenges, identify priority development works, and deliver public services more effectively. Such meetings also strengthen trust between the Municipal Corporation and the people while ensuring that development initiatives remain aligned with the needs and expectations of the community.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana further stated that every complaint and suggestion received from residents is carefully reviewed and followed up with the concerned officials. He stressed the importance of continuous monitoring, timely execution of development works, and coordinated efforts among municipal departments to ensure efficient resolution of civic issues. According to him, a citizen-first approach remains essential for improving the quality of municipal services and strengthening urban governance.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that serving the people of Mohali and addressing their concerns remains his foremost responsibility. He added that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening urban infrastructure, enhancing public services, and promoting transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance across the state. He assured residents that every issue brought to his notice would receive due attention and sincere efforts would be made to ensure its early resolution.
The public interaction once again reflected the Municipal Corporation’s commitment to accessible governance, active citizen participation, and continuous community engagement. Through regular dialogue with residents, improved civic infrastructure, and efficient delivery of municipal services, SAS Nagar Mohali continues to move towards becoming a cleaner, more organised, and resident-friendly city.
