MLA Kulwant Singh Reviews Development Progress During Gidarpur Visit
A public outreach programme was organised in Village Gidarpur, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 1 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with local residents to review ongoing development works, discuss public welfare initiatives, and understand the future development priorities of the village. The programme served as an important platform for direct communication between citizens and their elected representative while sharing updates on the Punjab Government’s development agenda under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the interaction, residents were informed about the major development projects and welfare schemes implemented across SAS Nagar Mohali during the past four and a half years. Discussions focused on improvements in road connectivity, rural infrastructure, drinking water supply, sanitation, healthcare, education, public utilities, citizen services, and various welfare programmes that have significantly improved the quality of life across both villages and urban areas. Villagers also shared their suggestions, highlighted local development priorities, and discussed issues requiring attention from the concerned government departments.
Residents appreciated the progress made in their village and acknowledged the improvements in essential public services and infrastructure. They also raised concerns related to roads, drainage, sanitation, street lighting, drinking water facilities, and other civic amenities. MLA Kulwant Singh listened attentively to every representation and assured the villagers that all genuine concerns would be taken up with the concerned government departments on priority. He emphasised that continuous follow-up would be maintained to ensure the timely resolution of public grievances and the effective implementation of development projects.
The programme highlighted the importance of maintaining regular dialogue between citizens and public representatives to strengthen transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance. Community outreach programmes improve coordination between government departments and local communities, increase awareness about government welfare schemes, and encourage active public participation in planning and monitoring development works. Such interactions help ensure that governance remains responsive to the aspirations and needs of the people while strengthening trust between the administration and citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the confidence and support shown by the people of Gidarpur inspire the government to work with greater dedication for the development of every village. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government continues to strengthen public infrastructure, improve citizen services, and implement welfare initiatives that directly benefit every section of society. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the residents for their warm welcome, active participation, and valuable suggestions, stating that public feedback remains an important guide for future development planning across the constituency.
He further encouraged villagers to remain actively involved in community development and continue supporting government initiatives through regular communication with the administration. He emphasised that cooperation between citizens, elected representatives, and government departments is the foundation of transparent governance, better civic amenities, and sustainable long-term development throughout Mohali.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating development works, strengthening rural infrastructure, and improving public services across SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in essential infrastructure, responsive governance, and active community participation, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to building stronger villages, enhancing civic amenities, and creating a more prosperous, inclusive, and better-connected Mohali for all residents.
