Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana flagged off a special pilgrimage bus under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme from Dhurali village, SAS Nagar Mohali, enabling senior citizens to embark on a spiritually enriching journey to some of Punjab’s most revered religious and historical destinations. The welfare initiative, launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, aims to provide elderly citizens with an opportunity to undertake religious travel with dignity, comfort, and complete government support.
The pilgrimage itinerary includes visits to Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Partition Museum in Amritsar. These sacred and historically significant sites offer pilgrims an opportunity to seek spiritual blessings while exploring Punjab’s rich religious, cultural, and historical heritage.
Before the departure of the bus, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana met the senior citizens, interacted warmly with them, and extended his heartfelt wishes for a safe, comfortable, and memorable pilgrimage. He expressed satisfaction that elderly residents of Mohali were being given the opportunity to undertake a well-organised spiritual journey without worrying about transportation, accommodation, or other travel-related expenses. He encouraged the pilgrims to make the most of the experience and return home with cherished memories and renewed spiritual strength.
The Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme has been introduced to ensure that senior citizens across Punjab can undertake religious journeys in a safe, organised, and comfortable environment. Under the scheme, the Punjab Government has arranged transportation, assistance, accommodation, and other essential facilities to ensure that participants can complete their pilgrimage without inconvenience.
