MLA Kulwant Singh Meets Manak Majra Residents to Review Local Issues
A community interaction programme was organised in Village Manak Majra, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 2 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh met local residents to discuss ongoing development works, public welfare initiatives, and the future development roadmap for the village. The programme served as an important platform for strengthening public participation, reviewing local priorities, and sharing updates on citizen-focused initiatives being implemented by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the interaction, residents were informed about major development projects and welfare schemes undertaken across Mohali over the past four and a half years. Discussions focused on improvements in roads, drinking water supply, sanitation, healthcare, education, rural infrastructure, public utilities, and other citizen services that have contributed to enhancing the quality of life across both urban and rural areas. Villagers also shared their suggestions and highlighted local development needs to help guide future planning.
Residents raised several issues concerning village infrastructure and civic amenities, including roads, drainage, street lighting, and public facilities. MLA Kulwant Singh listened carefully to every concern and assured the villagers that all genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned government departments to ensure prompt action and effective resolution. He emphasised that regular interaction with citizens helps identify grassroots priorities and enables faster implementation of development works.
The programme highlighted the importance of continuous communication between public representatives and local communities in achieving transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance. Community participation plays a vital role in strengthening development planning, improving coordination with government departments, and ensuring that public welfare initiatives remain aligned with the aspirations of the people. Such meetings also help increase awareness about government schemes and encourage greater public involvement in the development process.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that sustainable development can only be achieved through active public participation and continuous dialogue with citizens. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening public infrastructure, improving citizen services, and implementing welfare programmes that directly benefit every section of society. He added that regular community meetings help ensure that development reaches every village while making governance more responsive to public needs.
He further encouraged residents to continue participating in such public interaction programmes and contribute valuable suggestions for the development of their village. He noted that close cooperation between citizens, elected representatives, and government departments is essential for building stronger communities and ensuring balanced, long-term development across Mohali.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating development works, improving public services, and strengthening rural infrastructure across SAS Nagar Mohali.
